Sound but no picture
Almost always the backlight. Shine a torch at the screen: if you can faintly see the picture, that’s it.
No power
A failed power board or standby circuit.
Not cooling
A relay, thermostat or slow gas leak.
Gas refilling
We find and fix the leak first, then pull a vacuum and refill with the right gas for your fridge.
Ice build-up
Frost on the back wall or around the fan points to a defrost heater, sensor or timer fault.
Burner weak
A blocked jet or burner cap.
Burner won’t light
Blocked jets from spills, a wet or cracked igniter, or a faulty spark generator.
Clicks but no flame
The spark is there but gas isn’t reaching the burner: jets, valve or supply.
No hot water
The heating element or thermostat.
No cold water
Switch off at the back, a failed thermostat, fan or cooling compressor, or low gas.
Leaking
Worn taps, a cracked reservoir or a loose bottle seat.
Runs but doesn’t heat
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor.
Sparking
A burnt waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint. Stop using it until it’s fixed.
Turntable not turning
A worn turntable motor or coupler.
Solstar fridges cool best with space at the back for air. Leave about 10 cm between the fridge and the wall.
