Chest freezer humming, not cold
The compressor is trying to start: a relay, capacitor or low gas.
Not cooling
Low gas from a leak, dusty condenser coils, a failed fan, thermostat or start relay.
Igniter clicking non-stop
Water or grease on the ignition switch. It needs cleaning or a new switch.
Burner won’t light
Blocked jets from spills, a wet or cracked igniter, or a faulty spark generator.
Clicks but no flame
The spark is there but gas isn’t reaching the burner: jets, valve or supply.
Bottom-load pump not drawing water
The pump or its float switch, or an air lock in the bottle probe.
No cold water
Switch off at the back, a failed thermostat, fan or cooling compressor, or low gas.
No hot water
A failed heater, thermostat or thermal cut-out.
Front loader leaking
A torn door seal or a loose hose inside the cabinet.
Not draining
Water left in the drum, or a code like 5C, OE or E18. Usually a blocked filter, hose or a worn drain pump.
Not spinning
Clothes come out soaking. Unbalanced loads, a drain fault, a worn belt or motor brushes.
Runs but doesn’t heat
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor.
Sparking
A burnt waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint. Stop using it until it’s fixed.
Turntable not turning
A worn turntable motor or coupler.
Sound but no picture
Almost always the backlight. Shine a torch at the screen: if you can faintly see the picture, that’s it.
No power
A failed power board or standby circuit.
Lines on the screen
T-con board or panel faults.
If a Bruhm bottom-load dispenser runs but no water comes up, reseat the bottle and probe first. If the pump still hums with no flow, it needs replacing.
