LE code, drum stuck
On Direct Drive machines this points to the motor rotor, its position sensor or the wiring to it. The motor itself rarely fails.
Loud roar on spin
Worn drum bearings. We strip the tub and replace the bearings and seal.
Linear compressor fridge not cooling
Some LG linear and Smart Inverter compressors lose cooling over time. We test the compressor, board and gas before quoting.
Er FF or Er dH
The freezer fan is iced up or the defrost circuit has failed. A heater, sensor or fuse is usually the fix.
Not cooling
Low gas from a leak, dusty condenser coils, a failed fan, thermostat or start relay.
Dark screen or lines
Backlight failure on LED models, or a T-con board or panel ribbon fault causing lines.
Sound but no picture
Almost always the backlight. Shine a torch at the screen: if you can faintly see the picture, that’s it.
No power
A failed power board or standby circuit.
CH error codes
Sensor, fan motor or communication faults between the indoor and outdoor units, or low gas.
Not cooling
Dirty filters, low gas from a leak, or a failed capacitor or fan.
Leaking water
A blocked drain line or tray on the indoor unit.
Runs but doesn’t heat
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor.
Sparking
A burnt waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint. Stop using it until it’s fixed.
Turntable not turning
A worn turntable motor or coupler.
OE, not draining
Blocked filter or drain hose, or the drain pump. Clean the filter first; if it still shows OE, we replace the pump.
Not draining
Water left in the bottom from a blocked filter, drain hose or pump.
Leaking
Worn door seals, a split sump or a loose hose. Many models stop with a flood code.

Is an LG Direct Drive washing machine worth repairing?
In most cases yes. The direct drive motor is very durable. Faults are usually a rotor sensor, wiring, the drain pump or bearings, all of which we repair.
