Oven flame goes out
The flame failure device (thermocouple) has worn out, so the gas cuts off when you let go of the knob.
Burner won’t light
Blocked jets from spills, a wet or cracked igniter, or a faulty spark generator.
Fridge cooling weakly
Dusty condenser coils, a failing thermostat or a slow gas leak.
Not cooling
Low gas from a leak, dusty condenser coils, a failed fan, thermostat or start relay.
Gas refilling
We find and fix the leak first, then pull a vacuum and refill with the right gas for your fridge.
Twin tub spinner not spinning
The spin motor, its capacitor, the brake or the lid switch.
Not draining
Water left in the drum, or a code like 5C, OE or E18. Usually a blocked filter, hose or a worn drain pump.
Not spinning
Clothes come out soaking. Unbalanced loads, a drain fault, a worn belt or motor brushes.
No hot water
A burnt-out heating element or thermostat, or the switch at the back is off.
No cold water
Switch off at the back, a failed thermostat, fan or cooling compressor, or low gas.
Leaking
Worn taps, a cracked reservoir or a loose bottle seat.
Runs but doesn’t heat
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor.
Sparking
A burnt waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint. Stop using it until it’s fixed.
Turntable not turning
A worn turntable motor or coupler.
Many Von gas cookers have a flame safety valve. If the oven or burner goes out when you release the knob, hold it in for 10 to 15 seconds after lighting. If it still goes out, the thermocouple needs replacing.
