Water inside the fridge
A blocked defrost drain on the back wall of the compartment.
Not cooling
Low gas from a leak, dusty condenser coils, a failed fan, thermostat or start relay.
Range cooker igniter weak
A worn ignition module or electrodes.
Burner won’t light
Blocked jets from spills, a wet or cracked igniter, or a faulty spark generator.
Clicks but no flame
The spark is there but gas isn’t reaching the burner: jets, valve or supply.
Oven door glass loose
Worn hinges or door clips; we refit the glass and hinges.
Not heating
A burnt-out element, thermostat or selector switch. On gas ovens, the igniter or valve.
Uneven baking
A failed fan motor or fan element, or a thermostat reading the wrong temperature.
Not draining
A blocked filter or drain pump.
Leaking
Worn door seals, a split sump or a loose hose. Many models stop with a flood code.
Dishes still dirty
Blocked spray arms, a clogged filter or a weak circulation pump.
Runs but doesn’t heat
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode or capacitor.
Sparking
A burnt waveguide cover or damaged cavity paint. Stop using it until it’s fixed.
Turntable not turning
A worn turntable motor or coupler.
Weak or no coffee
Scale in the system, a blocked brew unit or a tired pump.
Leaking
Worn seals and gaskets, or a cracked water tank.
Not heating
The boiler element, thermostat or pressure switch.
On Smeg FAB fridges, water pooling at the bottom of the fridge is almost always a blocked drain hole on the back wall. It’s a quick fix.
