Washes but won’t spin
Worn motor carbon brushes, a slipping belt or a drain fault stopping the spin. Brushes are a quick fix on most models.
Water leaking at the front
A split door seal, often torn by a coin or underwire. We replace the seal and check the drum for sharp edges.
Oven gas won’t stay lit
The thermocouple has worn out, so the safety valve shuts the gas when you let go of the knob.
Burner won’t light
Blocked jets from spills, a wet or cracked igniter, or a faulty spark generator.
Clicks but no flame
The spark is there but gas isn’t reaching the burner: jets, valve or supply.
Light and fan work, no heat
A failed oven element or thermostat. We test both before replacing either.
Not heating
A burnt-out element, thermostat or selector switch. On gas ovens, the igniter or valve.
Uneven baking
A failed fan motor or fan element, or a thermostat reading the wrong temperature.
Water left in the bottom
A blocked filter or drain hose, or a failed drain pump.
Not draining
Water left in the bottom from a blocked filter, drain hose or pump.
Leaking
Worn door seals, a split sump or a loose hose. Many models stop with a flood code.
Many older Ariston washers use carbon brushes in the motor. If it washes normally but struggles to spin, worn brushes are the first thing we check.
